The club is independent and self-supporting. It receives no regular financial or material assistance from outside bodies, private or public. It keeps membership fees as low as possible. A substantial deficit each year is made up through fund-raising and sponsoring of sporting events. Major annual re-occurring expenses are sports, equipment. Meet entries, athletes travel, coaches travel coaches expense and facility.
Most executive, coaching and committee positions in the club are filled by parents. All parents who enroll in the Road Runners Track & Field Club volunteer time for fund raising activities, assistance at meets and a variety of efforts of or coaches by encouraging athletes to show respect and diligence during practice.
Every Road Runner athlete is encouraged to keep a record of his or her performance in each event. The primary emphasis in club training and competition is improvement in an athlete’s Personal Best (PR). Recognition and respect for individuality and personal achievement on the part of coaches, officials and parents ensures that athletes of all levels of ability make steady progress.
Membership starts as early as the year an individual turns five(5) and moves up to the Master’s Group (you are never too old)
Each Road Runner is expectrd to participate in meets wearing the Club uniform.
